We celebrate the acquisition of the new Rainbow Powers Center as a completion of years of planning, prayer, intending, and financial contributions by our apprentice community, students and friends. And now we are renewing our capital campaign fund raising campaign efforts to support completion of the necessary renovations and make the Center move-in ready. Why a Rainbow Powers Center? The Rainbow Powers Center is the home of the Deer Tribe Metis Medicine Society (DTMMS) and the Sweet Medicine SunDance Path (SMSD). The Path promotes a spiritual practice that has evolved out of the ancient ways of the Twisted Hairs medicine men and women of Turtle Island (the Americas). Through its world-wide network of teachers, lodges, study groups, and affiliated organizations, SMSD offers teachings, lectures, workshops, classes, ceremonial opportunities, publications, and learning tools to anyone who seeks knowledge, healing, spiritual self-development, and physical mastery. The Rainbow Powers Center creates connection and touches people worldwide. It is a vessel where people from all over the world come to learn, to remember, to be refreshed and rejuvenated. They then return to their everyday lives enriched and ready to make even greater positive impact in their relationships, families, and communities. As the home of the Sweet Medicine SunDance Path, the Rainbow Powers Center nurtures the human spirit and the flowering of our full human potential and holds the dream of peace with individual, autonomous freedom for all peoples. What is needed? The main building is structurally sound, in good condition, and ready for the necessary renovations to meet our needs, to create harmony and balance within, and to align with the beauty of nature on the grounds. That effort includes:
How you can help financiallyThe capital campaign for a new Rainbow Powers Center began in 2005 with a goal of $750,000. Generous donations from so many people generated $412,000, and the Board of Directors earmarked $100,000 of operating money to the RPC project. That leaves us $238,000 short of our goal. Raising this amount is now necessary to quickly complete the Rainbow Powers Center renovations, so that we can move into the new Center from the current location as soon as possible. You can help by:
