The Seven Values
One's Sexual Connection
to Everything –
The Seventh of the Seven Values of the Everything
The seventh Value is probably the most misunderstood of all the Values. Frequently I have seen it miswritten “. . . connection to the Everything” and that is not correct. It is just “. . . to everything.” Furthermore, it is not about sex or intercourse, although that certainly is a part of our sexual connection to everything, albeit a small part. This Value encompasses a much broader horizon of experience in which sexual includes catalyst, initial spark, and prime moving energy as well as inspiration, motivation, passion, and lust in how you live your life.
According to the Twisted Hairs Elders, the seventh Value is how the Great Spirit gave us the personal and collective opportunity to gain svaha (knowledge and wisdom) through our connection to everything. The key here is our connection through heightened awareness and the fulfillment in our life of the Huaquas, especially the Huaqua of hope, which is spiritual self-love.
Now that we have explored the first six Values in previous issues of DeerTracks, let’s see how they relate to this seventh Value.
If you put together the 1st Value (1) and the 6th Value (6) – artistic originality in the statement, stand, and stance you take in relationship to general knowledge – that becomes your sexual connection to everything. What would that look like? You can make a difference. You can be a pioneer for change. You can always be the “first monkey.” And you can accomplish that by just being who you are as your natural self every day. When you take a stand for who you are, how passionate are you about it? This involves a level of commitment to yourself. This marriage of the first and sixth Values is basically our teaching of the Dawn Light Beauty Way Wheel coupled with how, where, and what you focus on and then what you do with it in an original, creative way. Do you use what you know or do you just sit on it? This is how you free think.
If you combine the 2nd Value (2) and the 5th Value (5) – refining your character as part of the condition of your bodily appearance—you are establishing your sexual connection to everything. Really, this statement is about immortality, about life in the Dream and your soul’s development. It is the motivation for you to come back again into physical form. It is the force, in a sense, that propels you through the cycles of reincarnation. It has to do, therefore, with dearmoring, resculpting, rebirthing, reintegrating, and then re-engaging – the five rules of dharma. This is how you hold your space.
The combination of the 3rd Value (3) and the 4th Value (4) – the relationship one has to those in one’s immediate, everyday environment is influenced in large part by one’s strength of mind. If you have a strong mind, you are attracted to strong minds, creative minds, minds that are not afraid to confront, minds that reach for the more and stretch the boundaries of the possible. It is vital that you seek out people, experiences, and environments that will stretch you, spark you to confront the unpredictable, and refine your character. This is how you must confront the world.
The 8th Value (Dharma life pattern), the 9th Value (Wisdom to properly design your hungers, your sexual hungers, and your work priorities), and the 10th Value (The ability to discern the proper value assessment of your overall self-worth) are ongoing manifestations of the first seven Values. They are the outcome of living within the Values, as the Values become your principles of attitude, approach, and behavior. In other words, these Values are how you grow and evolve. Every day in every way warriors make these seven Values their will to do and their willingness to engage. It’s just that simple. As a result, you will create your dharma life patterns. You will start to gain the wisdom and knowledge necessary to design your hungers, your sexual hungers, and your work properly in alignment with Sacred Law. You will free think and discern a proper value assessment of your overall self-worth, your true measure. So 8, 9, and 10 are not something that you do, they happen as a result of what and how you do within the other Values.
